Bootsy says she most wants you to know that old dogs can learn new tricks! This Rhodesian Ridgeback girl is older but is one of the sweetest on the adoption floor. She came in with an infected jaw due to poor care but received surgery to fix it! Missing half a jaw but that doesn't bother her one bit -- so it shouldn't bother you either! Bootsy is 9-10 years young with lots of love to give her new adopters. Sadly older dogs in adoptions do not get seen because no one sees their value! Well past her puppy years and into the golden years!

Come Meet Our Pets...

The Guilford County Animal Shelter is located at 4525 West Wendover Ave. in Greensboro, NC
We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12-6pm, and Sunday from 1-5pm. The animal shelter is closed on Tuesdays, however staff are available to answer phone calls.
We do host off site adoption fairs, please visit our Facebook page, Guilford County Animal Services, to find out where our next adoption fair will be held.

Our Adoption Process...

The Guilford County Animal Shelter houses many wonderful animals who are waiting for their new homes.
We recommend that you come out to the shelter any time during our open business hours to spend time with the shelter animals.
Once you've picked a dog or cat you'd like to adopt we have a three page application you'd need to fill out, if you rent your home we would need to verify a pet policy with your landlord, and if you have other pets you'd need to provide proof of an up to date rabies vaccine. We require a valid government issued photo ID for any individual who wants to adopt an animal from the shelter.
Adult dogs are $95.00 to adopt, puppies under 6 months of age are $150.00; adult cats are $50.00 to adopt, and kittens under 6 months of age are $105.00. The adopt fee is due when the adoption application is turned in.
If the animal you've chosen to adopt is already spayed or neutered they can go home with their new families the same day; if the animal is not yet spayed or neutered it would have to stay at the animal shelter until it can be altered.
