Teya's Story...
Oh, ‘ello! I’m Teya. (purrrrrrrrr…) My Birthday is very soon and I’ll be 3 months old. Wooo Hooo! Let me tell ya’, life’s been crazy lately! People left me outside the shelter one night and it was sooo cold. This girl was super smart though. I found one of those loud car things and crawled under there until I found a nice warm spot. The next morning I woke on the wrong side of town! Yep, that’s right. I rode on top of a car engine all the way to across town. It was scary, but there was no way I was turning loose. Thankfully, they heard me once we were parked and I was able to ride in the car where it was warm and a lot less scary. Since then I’ve met some nice kitty friends. We even get to romp around and play with people when they visit. Don’t get me wrong it’s not all been smooth sailing. I’ve had to learn to share my food with others. I kept telling them that it’s all mine, but no one listened to my Squee! I’ve also been on another car ride to the doctor. The ride wasn’t too bad (safe and warm), but once we got to the doctor, well let’s just say I’m glad to be spayed so I don’t have to go through that again!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teya, a Murphysboro Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
