Cardy's Story...
Hello there! My name's Cardy, and I'd like to be your new best friend! I'm a 10 year old male rat terrier, who was recently surrendered to the shelter by my owner. I really loved him and miss him, but I hope someone else will give me a chance and take me home! I would do well in a home with cats, and also like kids. I do well when riding in the car, but don't care too much for being in a crate. My favorite thing to do is to lay next to my person and be petted. Do I sound like I could be a good fit for your home?

Before I go to a new home I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will have a microchip. All I need now is someone like YOU to take me home and love me forever! The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cardy, a Youngwood Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
