My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES FARRAH INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!

Farrah ended up in a shelter in E. TN and in trouble. She did not care for the animal control officer (a man) however she was able to be handled by an older couple and a woman who came to the shelter. She seems fearful of men and not confident around them at all. It is evident that some man was not nice to her at all. We have seen this many times before with both male and female Shepherds who have come into the rescue and we have worked with all of them to help them overcome this.

Farrah is approx. 2 yrs. old and just adores women. She is sweet, affectionate, loving and gives kisses freely. Ideally we would love to place her in a home where a woman is her caregiver, one who has an understanding of domestic abuse, at least we believe that is what has happened to her at some point. She will need a patient adopter who will help her with this. Farrah has met one man at the rescue that she was afraid of initially but when he fed her come cheese, she decided he was ok and gave him kisses. Farrah is fine with another large breed male dog. She has some decent manners and does not jump on you or act obnoxious but standard obedience work is always advised with any rescue dog. Farrah had a rough start in her young life but she is learning more at the rescue every day and wants to find a family of her own to love.

If you are interested in adopting Farrah, please feel free to fill out an application on our website.
