Trixie's Story...
Trixie and Kia are just the sweetest girls you could ever meet! These two tiny girls are mother and daughter purebred shihtzus and are so bonded that they must be adopted together. Trixie is 15 years old and Kia is about 8 years old. You would not know their ages, though! Both girls are very healthy for their ages; eyes are bright and clear and fabulous teeth. They both have good energy and still have a lot of life and love to give to that special adopter out there. We do believe that the ages are incorrect. They were surrendered to us by their elderly owner who was a former breeder and they do not seem to be this old. Their teeth and eyes are not this aged. We are going by the owner’s recall; however, our veterinarian feels that these two girls are much younger. They are housetrained, good with all people of all ages, good with kitties and other dogs. If you are interested in knowing more about them, please contact St. Martin’s Animal Rescue by email to The adoption fee for the pair is $300.00

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie, a Sheridan Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Sheridan, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Sheridan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sheridan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sheridan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sheridan paves the way for another one to be saved.
