Ben's Story...
Name: Ben
Breed: Lab/Newfy Cross
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

Ben is a handsome, friendly, loving Lab mix (maybe with Newfie given his size and fluffy coat?). He is about 3 years old, 75 lbs, and a total love bug. He loves other dogs, he loves people, he loves strangers...he loves everyone! He is good with cats though has given chase a time or two in good fun, lives with other dogs and does well, and is used to living with older kids (10+). Ben is housetrained on a schedule (meaning expect accidents as he transitions and he relies on you to let him outside rather than him asking), crates well, not a barker, and minds his manners well in the house. He absolutely loves his walks and playtime though his leash manners leave something to be desired but he's working on it. His desire to please his people and his smarts are showing with how quickly he is picking things up. If you are looking for a smart, social, big buddy who is up for any adventure to join your life, please consider Ben. He is something special already and with a little more polishing with the training, he’s going to truly shine.

Requirements: Kids ages 10+.

You can email with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ben, a Minneapolis Labrador Retriever/Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Newfoundland for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Newfoundland breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
