This is Karma (HWTH#16385A). She is a Pit mix, DOB: 5/15/15. Karma weighs approximately 35-40 pounds now (she is a little underweight). Her foster dad is currently feeding her 4 cups of food a day hoping to get her weight up to 45 pounds soon. She stands 19 inches at the shoulders. Karma was rescued from the middle of a busy street in the Antelope Valley by a Good Samaritan who immediately fell in love with her. Unfortunately the rescuer is not financially able to care for Karma and has relinquished her to Halfway to Home so she can find the loving home she deserves.

When initially found, Karma was afraid of being petted but has made wonderful progress in that area and now loves affection and likes to give affection back. Lots of love, good-quality human companionship, playtime (she loves to play ball/fetch) and exercise will be a must for Karma in her new Forever home. Currently Karma is being fostered by a volunteer with Halfway to Home and is residing with 14 other dogs of various ages and sizes with no problems. She has learned to use a dog door and is completely house trained. Karma is being crate trained and is coming along well with that also. She is good with kids and is tolerant of cats. When Karma is thoroughly settled in her new Forever home, she will benefit from positive basic obedience training mostly for bonding purposes. Once Karma has bonded with her new owner, she will be an amazingly loyal canine companion. Karma can get over a 6-foot wood fence so she will need very secure fencing. About Halfway to Home

About Our Rescue Group...

Halfway To Home was formed in 2001 due to the need in the Antelope Valley to rescue the many homeless, helpless pets. We have animals from individuals who have to give up pets, and from animal shelters that have darling individuals who need to be spared euthanasia. There are puppies coming from individuals who did not spay and neuter in a timely manner. Your tax deductible donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 512 Rosamond, CA 93560 or you can visit us on our web site at and make a donation through PayPal.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come and see us every Saturday & Sunday, rain or shine from 1 to 5 PM at the Westside Palmdale Petsmart, located on 10th Street West, next to Trader Joe's, just south of Rancho Vista Blvd (Avenue P).

We are in need of volunteers to help out at our pet adoptions at PetSmart in west Palmdale on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. If interested, please visit us during our adoption hours at the west Palmdale PetSmart or call Suzanne at 661-824-4495.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption procedure includes an application to make sure the dog and the people will be a good match, an adoption fee to cover the cost for shots, spaying or neutering, and a home check. Halfway to Home dogs are adopted out to be part of the family, and many of them are housetrained, if not, we ask that you are willing to undertake that task. Our dogs are intended to be indoor/outdoor family members. Doggie doors are a plus.
