My story

Riley is a 3 year old male mix.

He has just arrived and is being assessed.

He is good with cats.

Riley has tested positive for Heartworm and will be assessed and treated after he arrives. He'll need to be on a no activity regimen for 30 days from treatment while he recovers and on a low activity regimen for 6 months. Both his treatment and blood test after 6 months are paid for by GRFR at one of our contracted vets. Riley's forever family will need to be sure he takes a monthly heartworm preventative year round. Some people might be leery of a dog like Riley, who has had heartworm, but there is no need to be. It is both curable and preventable.
