Lucille is a female Maltese mix approximately 6 years old. She is very small, weighing only 5 pounds full grown. Lucille has a silvery white wavy coat that is non-shedding. She currently has a shorter haircut due to neglect and matting of her beautiful long coat when we rescued her. Lucille is a super quiet, sweetly mellow little girl who adores being with her people, pampered and fussed over. She loves being indoors with her family, safe and sound. Lucille has an adorable habit of burrowing underneath blankets or covers until its just her little black nose poking out. She will curl up there, happy as can be, and take a nice snooze while you work or would welcome you to nap along with her. Lucille is a wonderful, warm little companion dog and deserves a home where she is protected and kept safe. She will thrive in a peaceful home where there isn't a lot of commotion. This little sweetie is not recommended for young children because she is just too tiny and delicate. She is a beautiful little princess and will easily ride in the car in a dog car seat right next to you, looking out the window. In public, she will stay very close to you, or else will want to be carried. Lucille is excellent with other small dogs and although she isn't really playful, she enjoys canine companionship if you have another mellow dog in the home. Its not necessary however since she is also comfortable on her own. Lucille loves treats and will perk up for a tasty morsel. Kind words and a gentle touch are the way to this little baby's heart (along with a bit of chicken). Lucille was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where she was brought in stray. She is a lovely little thing and is going to make a wonderful, loyal pet and companion. Lucille is healthy and ready for her new forever home today!

Lucille’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Lucille is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Phyllis and Richard and is ready for her forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LUCILLE, a Newport Beach Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
