~ ADOPTION PENDING ~

You may meet and apply to adopt David at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11th from 12 Noon – 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH. (Our event is held INSIDE of the PETCO store.) adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

David is a male Maltese mix approximately 1 1/2 years old. He is a smaller guy, weighing 11 pounds full grown. David has a white, wavy coat that is non-shedding. He has been professionally groomed and currently has a short haircut due to matting and neglect of his pretty coat when we rescued him. With proper care, his coat will recover and grow out full again. David is a smart, perky little dog who quickly learns the ways of the household and is easy to train. He adores treats and will do anything for a tasty tidbit. David walks great on leash and rides like a champ in the car. He would be a wonderful co-pilot for running errands or taking the kids to after school activities. David is good with children and likes gentle loving. He enjoys being the center of attention and will be social and friendly with everyone, wagging his tail happily. He gets along fine with other dogs but doesn't really need a canine friend in the home to feel secure and content. He seems to be all about the people (and the treats). David is quiet, well-mannered, and an easy keeper. He is bright enough to quickly learn basic commands and even hand signals. His attentive, curious nature makes him fun to be around and easy to love. David is interactive with everyone he meets and makes friends wherever he goes. He was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where he was brought in stray. David has been vet checked and is ready for his new forever home today!

David’s adoption donation is $450 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

David is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Jackie and is ready for his forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DAVID, a Newport Beach Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
