Onyx's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Onyx's Story...

Onyx was caught outside and fully vetted. She shows a few semi feral qualities with her skittish tendencies, but she is super sweet. Currently she is living with social cats and dogs that are teaching her to be more comfortable with people. She enjoys snacks and yummy treats like little pieces of cheese and dehydrated meat. Onyx is very inquisitive and adventurous. She is also timid around strangers and quiet, but when she's hungry she meows a cute high pitched wail. Onyx loves toys and really enjoys playing with her sister. Although they don't need to be adopted together, they would both really benefit from living with another social animal.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Onyx, a Island Lake Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Island Lake, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Island Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Island Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Island Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Island Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
