Facts about Missy

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Missy was surrendered to the shelter because her family’s home burned in a fire and they needed help. Missy is 6 years old and very well mannered. In her dog kennel she stands quietly, wagging her tail, her eyes following the volunteer with the leash as she waits patiently to be led outside. Because she had been living in an outside pen, Missy got bathed shortly after she arrived, standing calmly in the white tub while she got rinsed, soaped, scrubbed, and rinsed again. When her bath was done and all of that grime had washed down the drain, Missy said “thank you” by gently resting her head on the shoulder of the volunteer who bathed her, melting that volunteer’s heart. Now her black fur shines in the light and Missy feels as soft as new fleece. If you love black labs but don’t want a large dog, Missy may be the smaller package you are looking for, weighing in the 50 lbs or less category. Our Adoption Process...

Our dog adoption fee is $125 and we require either a spay/neuter deposit of $50 or a certificate for spay/neuter at our vet may be purchased for $100 (unless already spayed/neutered which would change the adoption fee) if the option of the $50 deposit is chosen, it will be returned after proof of the surgery.
Our cat adoption fee is $75 for kittens and $35 for adult cats. The cat adoption fee includes spay or neuter costs. All cats and dogs receive a wellness check and are current on all vaccinations appropriate for their age.

The adoption process includes filling out an adoption application and providing references. Any current pets in the household must be spayed or neutered (unless not recommended by a veterinarian for health reasons) and current on vaccinations.
If living in a rental property, we must obtain permission from the landlord before an adoption can be approved. The dog or cat will be placed with the potential adopter that best matches the needs of the animal.
