Christa's Story...
I’m a petite little angel with a big purr, and everyone knows that a big purr reflects a big heart. I’m Christa. The FOHA volunteers know me as just the sweetest little girl, and I love their attention and affection. I came to FOHA from a rural shelter in Virginia that has far more kitties in need than they do adopters. I feel so lucky to get a second chance to find a loving family at FOHA – not every kitty is as fortunate as I am. And the FOHA folks tell me I can stay here at the FOHA communal cattery for as long as it takes until my forever family finds me. No offense to the wonderful staff and volunteers, but I sure would like to find a family to call my own sooner rather than later! I’m good with other cats (living here with several roommates at FOHA). And with my sweet and affectionate nature, I’m hoping that someone comes to meet me and falls in love very, very soon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Christa, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
