Guinea Pigs are most likely to be active during the day and live between 5-8 years.. They can grow up to 12 inches long. Most guinea pigs are gentle, social and enjoy the companionship of other guinea pigs.

A 30 inch habitat for single guinea pigs or a 40 inch habitat for pairs is recommended. Guinea pigs prefer multilevel homes the provide extra space and exercise. Paper bedding is recommended. A hiding house, chew toys, food dish, water dish and hay manger should be provided for your guinea pi

Heartland Small Animal Rescue is a non-profit serving South Bend & surrounding cities. We are comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers who work to find loving homes for homeless pets in our area.

Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events on select weekends at Petsmart in South Bend and Mishawaka. We also hold other events throughout the year. You can also contact us directly regarding a pet seen here and we will set up a time for you to meet them in person. Our Adoption Process...

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

Rabbits $50 (includes alter and microchip)
Ferrets $125/pair; $75/single
