Hello from the cockpit and your friendly co-captain Babs.

Babs you wingman/woman/dog. She is the go anywhere, do anything, smiling face looking back at you when you're having a bad day. A face that says, "Nawh girl- you look great, let's go get that cupcake" and "of course she thinks you're great look at you - you've never looked better." A face that makes your bad days into good ones. She's a dog friendly, kid friendly, past the puppy stage girl who is looking for family to call her own.

We met Babs at the city run pound - she was just smiling and happy, blissfully unaware of her surroundings. We had a foster available for a puppy - but we left with Babs after she passed her temperament test with flying colors. At around 2 years old, she weighs 46 lbs. We are thrilled to have this shining example of the beauty of rescue. Babs' adoption fee is $500 and will include her spay surgery, microchip, up to date vaccinations, health certificate and transportation from the Memphis are to your area upon adoption.

About WILSON ANIMAL RESCUE- Greenfield Transport chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Wilson Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue group in Memphis, Tennessee. We focus on rescuing dogs who are in danger of being euthanized at the city's run shelter and other midsouth shelters. We strive to place dogs in loving homes not only locally but in cities in the Midwest and New England areas. There simply aren't enough people adopting in the Memphis area to keep up with the amount of adoptable dogs who find themselves homeless.

For Example- In July 2015 Memphis Animal Services(city run animal control facility) took in 753 dogs. 191 were surrendered by their owners and 428 were brought in as strays either by animal control or by citizens. Of those strays 39 were returned to their owners. That was a good month for reclaims, typically only 5% of strays are returned to their owners. Of the 6,212 animals MAS has taken in through July of this year, 315 have been reclaimed. 336 dogs are euthanized in the month of July 2015, bringing the total of euthanized so far this year to 2228.

These numbers are from just ONE animal control facility. These numbers are why it has become our passion to help save these precious lives. To represent the underdog, to prove that rescues are just as loving and deserving as purebred dogs.

Once the adopter has been approved, they will be notified. We require a deposit of $150, this allows us to mark the pet as adopted and secure transportation for the next available transport. All dogs must have received all the vaccinations appropriate for their age, have a negative fecal exam and be microchipped, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
