Lucy's Story...
Looking for your best pal? One who is chill but still loves the fun times, too? Your search is over as soon as you meet Lucy. She is 4 yrs old, a Beagle mix and weighs approx 25 pounds. This total sweetheart is looking for a real forever home. Someone who will love her today and always. In return she will give you total unconditional love and attention 100 times over. She's also great with other dogs and would be a fantastic whole family companion.

To see Lucy, submit an adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. Staff will contact you—typically within two business days—for a phone interview and to schedule an appointment to visit the Farm in Centreville where our dogs and horses are kept.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Fairfax Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
