Michonne's Story...
Michonne is a black and tan female German Shepherd who is about 3 years old. She was used as a backyard breeding dog and was very neglected by her previous owners. She is very quiet and cautious but has a very sweet personality. She does well with other dogs and requires a compatible dog to hang out with. She is also good with cats. She rides well in the car, is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, knows sit, and is potty trained. She hasn't understood yet that she can come up for attention and needs someone who can softly show her that the world is a loving and fun place. Thanks to our wonderful volunteer, she was rescued from the shelter and is starting to find out how good life can be.

If you are interested in meeting/adopting Michonne, please fill out our adoption questionnaire which you can find at http://www.scgsr.org/adoption/aq/.

Michonne is Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a collar, all included in adoption fee.

If adopting is not a possibility right now, could you join us in saving lives by giving a dog a temporary safe place to live for a week or more? Contact us to find out about fostering. Please refer to our website for contacts www.SCGSR.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Michonne, a Walnut Creek German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
