Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hope is a gorgeous six year old red merle border collie. She was found in someone's yard in Oklahoma. A kind hearted soul took her in and discovered that she was not only heart worm positive, but also had a large benign tumor. Hope is a sweetheart who gets along well with others (dogs, humans, cats, children). Although she seems to love everyone, she can be initially shy and may have been abused in the past. If you move quickly near her or raise your voice, she sometimes ducks her head. Hope would do well in a home where she gets to be a companion for a human. Although she does like the companionship of a dog, she isn't much on active play. She is a very calm, low energy and affectionate girl. Hope enjoys sleeping mostly, and will follow her foster mom around the house to rest at her feet. Hope also enjoys giving kisses. Hope is house trained and currently uses a doggy door to let herself in and out as needed. She will not get on furniture, likely due to some arthritis. She is a bright, food motivated girl, and could easily learn other things in her new home. Hope is a great eater, even eats pills without any effort. Hope is listed as Coming Soon. She is undergoing a slow kill Heartworm treatment, and is still recovering from having the large tumor removed. Once she settles, and is fully recovered, she will be made Available for Adoption.
