My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the most affectionate and loving Miss Gabby. She is a gorgeous mix of Staffordshire Terrier and Labrador Retriever. Gabby is 4 years old and weighs 55lbs. She is terrific with kids and cats, small dogs and even farm animals too. Gabby is a bit intimidated by bigger her dogs, so her ideal home is as an only dog or with small dogs or cats or for siblings. Gabby was rescued out of the not “very bully-friendly” state of Illinois and has been tossed around quite a bit in her 4 years. We transported her this fall in hopes of finding her a terrific forever family in the “safe” state of Washington. Gabby totally loves and trusts every person she meets- but does not feel the same about larger dogs. She knows her basic commands and has no food or toy aggression. Gabby has a bit of crate anxiety, but can be totally trusted out of her crate and in the house so we would not suggest using a crate. She is super happy and confident with her people and very mellow and calm in your home and yard. Gabby is awesome with children; her foster mom has a toddler and many kid visitors, and Gabby loves them all! She gives her foster baby brother Corey kisses and just wants to love on him all the time. Gabby is good with cats and she hasn't seemed to even notice the horses, chickens or goats. She loves people and has never met anyone she didn't like. Gabby gets so excited when anybody new walks through the door. Gabby is sweet, fun, energetic, affectionate and sensitive girl. She needs to be loved and cared for and given the attention and affection she deserves! She just wants to follow you around the house and cuddle with you in bed and on the couch. Gabby loves the heated blanket and being spooned! She even wants to go under the blankets with you! Honestly, she just wants somebody who will love her and she will give them everything she has in return. Gabby's energy level is moderate, so you won't have to be compelled to take her for long walks or runs. She gets very excited when you first get home but all she really wants to do is give you kisses and get attention. She is a HUGE cuddler. Gabby calms down very nicely and is mellow and quiet in the house. She knows how to sit and shake and she is working on her other basic skills and her leash training. Gabby has no food or toy aggression. She is fine left out, and just sleeps on the dog couch all day! Gabby was passed around to different homes before we rescue here and many people weren't always nice to her. She needs to go to a home without being kenneled and with only small dogs. She does love kids and her fenced yard is a joy to her. She would love it if you worked from home! Gabby would be happy if you were patient and understanding and understood how hard a new environment can be on a girl like Gabby! Her adoption fee is $300 and you can apply to adopt Gabby at www.raincityrescue.com. Any questions, please email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com. You will truly fall in love with this sweetest and most affectionate companion Gabby!
