Facts about Lilly
Color: Tan Or Beige
Lilly is best friends with Ellie. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
These older ladies are definitely charming and wonderful to have around. They are gentle, sweet girls who will easily fit into any family or household. They are fine with cats and small, non threatening dogs. Lilly had a dental procedure done on her introduction into the rescue, but is back to eating normally and gaining weight quickly! She should not need this done again as long as she is kept on a proper diet of timothy hay and a plain pellet like Oxbow. These two are loving chins and will be a blessing to have in your family. Ellie is easier to hold, but Lily is great once she is in your arms. They are very endearing and a pleasure to have in foster care!
Chin Friends Chinchilla Rescue was started because the exotic pet trade in our country is busier than ever before. With the availability of these animals, many people impulse-purchase them, not realizing the commitment they are making. It gets overwhelming for some, and others didn’t quite realize the financial commitment or time commitment. Some people just lose interest, or their lifestyle changes and the pet does not fit in anymore. There are not many resources for people with exotic pets, and we aim to provide that for chinchilla owners.
We also realize great pet owners are made- not born that way, and each one of our adopters will have access to help, suggestions and any support they may need in the future.
Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our chinchillas are in private foster home, so we do not allow the general public to see the chinchillas without first filling out the adoption application. Once an adopter is approved, we will be happy to set up a private meeting so you can meet any chinchillas you are interested in adopting.
Our Adoption Process...
Unlike some rescues, we do not require a home inspection. We do require that you are prepared to agree to some basic expectations, including providing a proper cage, veterinary care from an exotic specialist, air conditioning, and a clean, quiet, smoke-free environment.
There is an adoption application available for download on our web site, and there is a $100 adoption fee per chinchilla. After filling out an application, one of our volunteers will speak with you for more information.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
