Facts about Lorie
Color: Silver Or Gray
Lorie and Madison are the mother and sister of Gabby and Simone. They all had a rough star when they were left in an apartment unattended for a few weeks due to health issues of their owner. They were with three other chins, and due to lack of care they got quite thin and began to barber- or chew off their fur, due to stress and sheer hunger. Luckily they were discovered and brought to us, and are now on the mend! Their fur looks incredible and they are gaining weight very quickly! These girls will be a great addition to most families, including a first time adopter. They are eager to please and gaining trust with people very quickly! They LOVE to eat!!
Chin Friends Chinchilla Rescue was started because the exotic pet trade in our country is busier than ever before. With the availability of these animals, many people impulse-purchase them, not realizing the commitment they are making. It gets overwhelming for some, and others didn’t quite realize the financial commitment or time commitment. Some people just lose interest, or their lifestyle changes and the pet does not fit in anymore. There are not many resources for people with exotic pets, and we aim to provide that for chinchilla owners.
We also realize great pet owners are made- not born that way, and each one of our adopters will have access to help, suggestions and any support they may need in the future.
Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our chinchillas are in private foster home, so we do not allow the general public to see the chinchillas without first filling out the adoption application. Once an adopter is approved, we will be happy to set up a private meeting so you can meet any chinchillas you are interested in adopting.
Our Adoption Process...
Unlike some rescues, we do not require a home inspection. We do require that you are prepared to agree to some basic expectations, including providing a proper cage, veterinary care from an exotic specialist, air conditioning, and a clean, quiet, smoke-free environment.
There is an adoption application available for download on our web site, and there is a $100 adoption fee per chinchilla. After filling out an application, one of our volunteers will speak with you for more information.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
