Archie is a handsome 4-year-old American Bulldog mix. He has good house manners, not inclined to jump on furniture, and is very well house trained. Archie seems happy to meet new people, but stays near his family when at home. He knows some commands and is okay on a leash, although he could use more training given his size and strength. Archie is also well-behaved when meeting other dogs; however, he would prefer to chase any cat that crossed his path. He responds well to attention and praise and, of course, food when learning new things. Archie's favorite pastimes are toys, running in the yard and walking or hiking with his person. While affectionate, he hasn't as yet learned to love cuddling. But offer him a belly rub and he will happily oblige. Archie seems uncertain about loud noises, children and new experiences. Due to his high prey drive, we do not recommend cats or other small animals. He'll need an adult only family that will help him become more confident and give him the time to feel he's finally home for good. Archie is a wonderful boy that will be a great companion for a family, without kids, who love walking/hiking and are looking for a pal and a friendly face. Archie is looking for love - how about you?
