Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tommy is such a handsome guy that the shelter named him Tom Selleck! He IS handsome, also playful and affectionate and just happy all around. Tommy is a young adult with playful energy. He loves to play chase with his doggie friends and also wrestle around. He totally does not care that he usually end up at the bottom of the wrestling pile, upside down, ha ha! We ran a DNA test on Tommy to see just what it take to create such a handsome fellow. He is 50% Bulldog! Now that one was a surprise. He is also 25% American Staffordshire Terrier and 12.5% Labrador Retriever.
Tommy is a real family dog, just loves his kids. He can also be protective of "his" kids so he needs to learn boundaries and tolerance for others who come into the home. We think Tommy would really benefit from some socializing in dog training groups and meet-ups.
Tommy was brought into the Merced County shelter as a stray a few months ago. You may not know this, but dogs don't usually last that long in shelters when they don't get adopted. But extra super special wonderful dogs like Tommy get reprieve after reprieve because of the pleading of shelter staff who love them. Such is the case with Tommy and so they reached out to find a foster for him. They were right, he is a wonderful boy!
Tommy is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is crate and house trained.
Adoption fees range from $150-$250 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTER CARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. If this dog might be the one for you, please EMAIL to learn more and get our adoption questionnaire.
We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
