My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SAGE is a 2 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 58 pounds. Sage is very sweet she is an active and loving pup. Once she gets to know you which only takes a few minutes she is very friendly and likes to get petted. When you have her sit half the time she ends up on her back so you can rub her belly. She likes to retrieve and brings it back most of the time. She will make some lucky family a great addition to their family. She need to go home with families that have that have a fenced yard as she would probably wander off and she must be adopted with another dog. Good with other dogs lived with Cotton & Pumpkins have been out with other Lab Rescue dogs with no problems.
No cat history. Knows sit, come. Will have training addendum. Pulls on lead better with an Easy Walk Harness. Most likely house trained, waits until she goes outside to go. Sage is approved for kids
ages 10+.

Update: Sage spent this past weekend in a temporary foster home as her foster mom was away. It took a few minutes for her to be confident around the resident lab but she soon realized that he was okay. On day two, she was seeking him out and was following his lead. She play bowed him on day three. She quickly learned the routine of the house and made herself at home on the couch. Sage LOVES to cuddle, gives hugs and enjoys receiving attention. She doesn’t believe in personal space as she wants to be as close to you as possible. She is a gentle girl and wants to please. Sage was given free run of the house at night but never really left the warmth of her foster mom’s bed. She was on her best behavior, is completely housetrained and didn’t touch anything she shouldn’t. Sage is great on leash and doesn’t appear to mind seeing people or other dogs while on walks. She had a few visitors at the house this weekend and is much more confident when the resident lab was also with her. Overall, Sage was an easy house guest and a joy to have for the weekend. Sage is now back with her regular foster home and is ready to find her home for the holidays.

Update: Sage has been an angel. She does great in the crate - she runs right in, hasn't had any accidents in the house, and does great on the leash even with no harness. She is a Velcro dog and does not leave her foster's side and seems to warm up to men quicker than then women, but snuggles with her foster mom too. She would be fine to go to a home in a less rural area (we are in a townhouse). She walked alone today and she still did great and walked right beside her foster, not scared at all. She hangs out with the resident dog a little but really just wants undivided attention. Did fine in the crate for 7 hours Friday also. She loves long walks and gets very excited for a walk when the leash comes out.

Update: Sage loves people and she's a smoocher! She cozies up to you and loves being petted and licking your face. She gets so excited to go for her morning walk, and she's super easy to walk without a harness. She loves being with her humans. Sage doesn't counter surf and gets along well with the resident lab. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals, and she shares toys nicely with her foster sibling. She eats her meals in her crate and is learning that it's a good place that she can hang out. This sweet and beautiful girl is going to make a fantastic family member!
