My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SNOWY is a 1 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 66 pounds. After spending a month recovering at the vet, Snowy has been a fantastic house guest since arriving at her foster home. She was a bit sad the first day that she was stuck in the crate and couldn't play with her new dog friends that she sniffed and saw, but a peanut butter stuffed bone made life all better and she settled in quietly. She pulls on leash and will walk best with an Easy Walk harness. She doesn't get to play with the resident dogs, but has been out on leash with the oldest, blind resident dog (who doesn't bump into her or try to play) and happily sniffs her and wags her tail. She walks with a slight limp (and may always), but doesn't let it slow her down. She's a champ in the crate - she'll bark when the resident dogs get riled up, but mostly she just chills and chews on a bone or naps. Foster's mom is in town and home during the day and bustling around the house and she has nothing but good reports about this girl. Snowy is incredibly sweet and will make a fantastic family member. Good with other dogs. She was inappropriately interested when she arrived at her foster home and saw the neighbor's cat, so no cats for Snowy. For now, Snowy needs a home without slippery floors. She is on strict crate rest with leash walks only until her re-check last week in December. She will need a physical fence not an invisible one. Snowy is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update: Snowy has continued to be a perfect house guest and is wondering where her forever family is hiding! She is nearly done with her crate rest and has been enjoying some limited freedom around the house. When she's out and about, often she still chooses to go hangout in her crate as there are fun toys in there too! snowy charms everyone she meets, and is going to be such a wonderful companion. She wanted to show off a few of her tricks, so check out her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaiciUJaB9E

Update: Snowy had great fun with a temporary foster for a few days and we learned that she's good with small (20lb) dogs. She's healing every day and still a total champ about her crate rest. She's ready to roll when you take her outside and is enjoying slightly longer walks to continue to strengthen her muscles. She's a friendly girl who loves to cuddle and can't wait to play!

Update: Snowy has been such a good girl! Her fur is so soft, and she loves to nuzzle you. Foster mom checked her skills earlier this week and learned that this cutie pie knows sit, down, and shake paw. She likes squeaking her toys, but doesn't seem to want to destroy them. She is super curious about the cows in the field and all their mooing, and was less than impressed with the hot air balloon landing, but all in all is a stellar, sweet and quiet house guest!
