My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is one of our interesting foster stories. We were told that this kitty must be the mom of a half-grown kitten found in the backyard as ‘she’ was with him. At spay appointment, our wonderful vet took one look and said, doesn’t look like a girl. She was right – not only a boy but an already neutered one. So that is how Goodiva (for the ‘good deed’ the people who fed ‘her’ did until they could arrange rescue for ‘her’ and the kitten) became Goodivo. She estimated his age at two years (so born approximately December 2014) due to his spotless teeth.

Goodivo, or Goodman as the foster mom has been calling him, is a long-haired ‘almost’ Turkish Van. The color on his head goes down to the nape of his neck and he has color on both hocks. Despite his longish hair, not one mat was found on him and he was exceptionally clean. (The tech did scan for a chip. None found.) He weighs 10.8 pounds. He is just stunning with his gold eyes, fluffy, fluffy coat, and beautiful plumy tail.

Goodivo/Goodman is a very friendly, affectionate kitty. He has a soft meow and a quiet purr. Loves to rub against your legs. Loves to be petted. He did enjoy staying out in the screened-in porch but used the doggy door to come in at night. We aren’t sure if he will insist on going out especially when the weather is nice so a home on a quiet street is a must. Hoping he will stay in as much as possible where he is safe. Doesn’t appear to want a lot of interaction with other kitties at this point – keeps to himself. Seems just fine with small dogs.

Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.
