Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hobbes, an 8 year tri-colored Bernese Mountain Dog/Border Collie mix. Hobbes came up north from southern Indiana for a new family as his previous family let him wander without an escort at all hours. Hobbes' previous family had a child under a year old. He does not do well with cats.
Hobbes has longish, luxurious, soft fur that will need regular brushing to prevent matting. His current foster family has almost succeeded in getting rid of all his matting. Although, Hobbes is NOT happy with the tugging and intense effort it's taking to make his fur smooth, he is really getting into being brushed.
Hobbes, or MISTER Hobbes, is a very calm older boy, who seems to get along better with puppies and female dogs than with males his size or larger. Hobbes LOVES being with his people and did very well with all ages and types of folks at a couple of adoption events that he attended.
He rides very well in the car and will join his people on the sofa or in bed when invited. Hobbes can climb over a 4 ft chain link fence so will need a home with a taller, privacy or invisible fence or people who're avid walker/runners. Hobbes does NOT tolerate crating but there doesn't seem to be a need for this as no inappropriate chewing or destruction has been observed when his foster family returns from work.
He did mark upon entering his new foster home but there have been no accidents since. Hobbes is neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations. If you feel your family would make a great fit for Hobbes, please call Anita at 708-751-4904. His adoption fee is $200.
