Rabbit's Story...
Meet Rabbit! Rabbit is new here, so our caretakers are still learning about his personality. He is around 10-months-old and was transferred from another shelter. This boy may be young, but he is incredibly well-mannered. He walks right by your side on a leash and likes to press his face right into any nook he can so long as it's you. While he has made a doggie friend here at DHA, we are not yet sure how he is with cats or kids. As we continue to get to know him, we will let you know Rabbit is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rabbit, a Wilmington Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
