Please contact DYLAN's adoption coordinator by emailing She is happy to send an adoption application or answer any questions that are not answered in his biography.

DYLAN is a very loyal and loving boy, always wanting to cuddle as close as he can get. He is happiest when he is laying in the sun or on the couch for a good nap. DYLAN loves other dogs and loves having a playmate around. He is also great with small children! He has a big appetite for affection and for snacks! He will do anything thing you ask both to please you and for a yummy treat. DYLAN is also is house trained (has never pottied in the house!) and kennel trained. He is the ideal age of 2 years old. If you are looking for a lifelong cuddly companion, DYLAN is your dog!!

DYLAN has been neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
His $450 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and transport to New England.

Please do not contact Woof River. He is being cared for by us but by another wonderful group in our area.

DYLAN, like all Woof River dogs, lives in the south (he is in Oxford, MS) and will remain in with his loving foster family until he is adopted. Once adopted, he will travel via one of our transport partners to his new forever home. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions ( and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (

Breed selection is done in conjunction with local veterinarians and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

About Woof River Animal Rescue - Waterbury Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Woof River Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer run foster based organization in Memphis, TN. Our mission is to save as many dogs and puppies as possible from high kill shelters and the streets in the South. Each and every dog lives as part of the family in a loving foster home until the perfect forever home is found.

An average of 1200 dogs a month are euthanized in the MidSouth. There are also countless dogs living on the streets without vet care or even shelter. These heartbreaking numbers are the fuel that keeps us working all day every day for free.

We serve all ages and breeds. We believe every dog deserves a chance at a warm, loving home every day of his life - and that new life starts with us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are fostered in the Memphis area. We are happy to for you to come to Memphis and meet any of our dogs once you have an APPROVED adoption application on file. We unable to do meet and greets prior to adoption for anyone outside of Memphis, unless you are willing and able to travel to Memphis yourself.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step towards adopting a Woof River Animal Rescue pup is completing the adoption application! The application gives us background information necessary to select the best fit family for each dog and vise versa. We are excited to work with you to find your furry new family member! We take our job very seriously and want to do everything possible to ensure each and every dog will be with his adopted family for life.

We highly suggest submitting an application describing the type of dog you are looking for even if you don't see that particular dog on our adoptapet page. We don't have every dog posted at once. Also, there are hundreds of homeless dogs in this area so there is a large chance that just what you are searching for can be found.

We are all volunteers, but we also respect the time of our adopters. We try to have all applications processed in 5 business days or less. Once your application has been processed we will contact you. If you are approved, then we will send you the adoption contract, spay/neuter contract (for puppies under 6 months), transport information, and payment information. All adoption fees may be paid via PayPal, credit card, or debit card. All payments are handled securely through the PayPal site. However, you do not have to have a PayPal account to pay with credit or debit.

Adoption fees are $250 for Memphis, $300 for Nashville, and $450 for our Knoxville, Midwest, and New England. Adoption fees are a direct result of $250 local adoption fee plus cost of health certificate and transport.

Once the adoption is official, we put our adopters in touch with the foster parents. The foster parents are happy to talk with you about your dog's current routine and favorite things. This is priceless in helping you prepare for your new arrival!

In order to qualify for Woof River’s program all of the following steps must be met:

• You must be at least 18 years of age and be able to provide proof of age.
• Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided.
• If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease.
• All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must agree be interviewed.
• If needed, you allow a Woof River representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog.
• Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet.

Because we are a volunteer based organization and we receive hundreds of inquiries each day. We are unable to answer all questions until an adoption application has been received.
