Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone! Originally, I came to my foster mom without her knowing anything about me at all. Not even my name! But I am a very smart, talkative, Amazon and I told her my name- it's Coco!! So, Coco here, nice to meet you, so glad everyone is finally able to call me by name!
I got a clean bill of health at the vets. They can't tell how old I am but they think I am young.
My foster mom is working with me on trying to improve my diet. So far I like the fruity pellets and almonds! I also get little bits of wholegrain cracker for a treat! MMMMM I sure do love those. I tasted chop once, and I really didn't like it but mom keeps putting it in my food dish so perhaps I'll change my mind. You know how we Amazons are, most of us really LOVE foods of all types, it's just a matter of getting used to them.
I do not step up, currently, but my foster mom is teaching me this new game. I call it "click treat" and I really like any kind of game that I can earn treats. When I touch my beak to this stick, I hear a click and I get a treat! It's fun and I'm pretty sure that soon I will understand that I'm supposed to step up.
I am also quite polite when I want to be. I will say "thank you" when I get put to bed at night. My foster mom thinks it's really sweet. I also make a very loud siren-type screech which isn't so polite and makes me unsuitable for apartment or condo living.
Do I sound like I might be a good companion for you? All I need is a bit of love, patience and understanding and I'm sure I'll be more than a good companion, I'll be a GREAT one. Please come meet me and let's see where it goes from there! While you are thinking about that, I could really use some things from my Amazon wish list. Maybe you could buy me something? An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird's cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
