Amelia's Story...
Amelia is still in New Orleans with Looziana Basset Rescue but can be easily transported up to the Northeast using Rescue Road Trips. Our adoption fee is $300 and the fee to transport to Putnam, Ct is $185. We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. We require that our dogs be on monthly year round heartworm prevention.
Amelia is around 3 years old and a beautiful basset mix. She is vaccinated, wormed, spayed, microchipped and just completed heartworm treatment. We is housebroken and very sweet. She loves car rides and long walks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amelia, a Boston Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Boston, or seeking a Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
