Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I'm from the dirt road poison ivy league of campfires, guitars, and river swings Got the good life down and if you hang around we can get a little dust on that collar Cause I'm a genuine, Alumni certified, give you a country time, love to treat you right, wrapped in a blanket tight, sing you to sleep at night, dirt road scholar...- from 'Dirt Road Scholar' by Dean Brody
Make no mistake, this charming southern boy will absolutely treat you right and love you to the moon and back. Brodie is a mostly black 5 month old Shepherd mix currently weighing 40 lbs. Our best guess is he will be around 55 to 60 lbs when full grown. Brodie quickly won the heart of his foster family with his warm gentle personality. Even being a pup his calm demeanor is like that of a more mature dog. He is quick to catch on to things and is eager to please. Brodie is already potty trained by way of letting himself out through the doggy door. Of course he may need to relearn some things in different surroundings but like we said, he catches on quick. He is crate trained and foster mom says she has used crating as a useful means of house training. Brodie has already mastered a beautiful 'sit' and is working on a few other basic commands. He is great on leash and loves going for walks with foster mom and the other fur kids. This precious baby boy is very good with other dogs and s well behaved with cats. He truly adores the little human boy in the home gladly playing or just spending some quiet time with him. We think if he had a middle name it would be something like Love Bug, Sweetie, Affection...well you get the picture. He really is as sweet as they come. He loves laying on the couch with his people, any opportunity will do, just so he can be close by and share a hug and kiss or two. He likes to be near his people and will even lay under the desk when foster mom is on the computer. This adorable pup also loves playing with his toys and can usually be seen carrying some kind of treasured buddy in his mouth. Now he may not actually sing you to sleep at night, but he'll sure keep you warm if you let him. If not, well he sure will sleep close by on a comfy cozy bed of his own all through the night. Brodie is already neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. He's got the good life down now and would love nothing more than to share his good fortune with a forever family. So go ahead! Take a walk with Brodie and get a little dust on that collar. Cuz this lil' southern boy is a dirt road scholar.
