My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KHOLE is a 6 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 53 pounds. Khole is a great dog she loves to be with you and get attention but is fine just laying around waiting for you to call her over for some attention. She likes to retrieve but is not a nut about it. She likes to go outside to play but prefers to be inside with you or hanging out on her dog bed. She would like a home with a family that will give her lots of love and has a fenced yard. More soon as she just moved to a foster home .Kids 6 and up lived with a 6 year old girl with no problems. Good with other dogs, was out with other LR dogs at the kennel and is doing well with her fosters dog.Knows sit, down, come. Okay on lead, better with an Easy Walk Harness. Crate and house trained. Khole was an owner turn in to the shelter as they were moving out of state and couldn’t take her with them. She is a beautiful pup who is sweet, loves people, seems to know her basic commands and has a very happy cheerful attitude. Khole is beautiful and her coat is good looking She's a really nice girl that will make a great companion and family member. She is approved for kids 6+. More info soon!

Update: Khole is my newest foster. She is 6, but you would never know it. She has a sweet, puppy face that just melts your heart. She likes to play with my lab with puppy enthusiasm. Khole enjoys chasing tennis balls with my pup and enjoys chewing on marrow bones. Likes to go for rides and doesn't mind going into a crate at all. She sleeps in our room at night and is completely house trained. If you want a loving, laid back dog who just wants to be petted and to keep you company, Khole is the girl for you.

This dog is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound) Adopters must travel to Maryland, Virginia or Washington DC with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 50 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. Within a few days of submitting an application you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a home visit is required.
