My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

AGE: About 3 Years
WEIGHT: About 85 lbs
DOGS: Yes
CATS: No

HISTORY: Chief was found as a stray in the suburbs. When he was first found he obviously had sustained some sort of trauma. His head was swollen and he had cuts all over. He healed quickly and completely for that, but during his vetting we discovered he had two luxating patellas. After two separate surgeries and rehabilitation periods Chief is ready to be adopted!

ABOUT: This boy is an eye catcher and has the personality to match. Chief is housetrained. He has been confined to one room during his rehab but was never crated and is not destructive. Chief hasn’t been a big fan of this cold weather so he won’t expect you to take him on long walks. He is not afraid of public displays of affection and will openly snuggle with you. Chief is also great with kids; he loves them and is very gentle. As far as dogs go he does prefer more low-key dogs and has been fine with small dogs at our outreach/adoption events. He is a bit too intrigued by cats so we feel a dog-only home is best for him. Chief is also great in the car and loves rides. If you live near Frankfort IL, or the Wicker Park/ Lincoln Park neighborhoods in Chicago we would love to provide basic obedience training for you. Chief is a big strong guy so it is best for everyone if his manners are polished.
