Ridge's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Ridge's Story...
Hello there! I'm a sweet redbone coonhound named Ridge. I was a bear dog, so I would love to have some activity in my life to burn off some energy. I may be a big fellow, but I'm extremely gentle if I jump up on people. I really love to to be close and look deeply and softly into you eyes while I do so. I have a sensitive heart and love to get attention and be cuddled. I can be a little shy at first, so a home with children (5 and up) would be lovely. I'm a bit unsure of new dogs, and I would love to have a meet and greet with your doggie (if you have one) to see if we all get along. If I'm the gentle soul for you, then stop by the shelter to meet my loveliness.

I have met a cat before, and I thought they were very fun to chase! I'm not recommended for a home with cats since I will try to "tree" them and your resident kitty will probably not appreciate that very much.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ridge, a Harrisonburg Redbone Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
