Facts about Harley

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Harley was rescued by a couple while they were camping. He wandered into their campsite, hungry and thin. They felt they just couldn't leave him there. They contacted the local shelter, who did not have room for him and referred them to Causeforpaws. They agreed to pay for his neutering and vaccines if I would take him. Harley is approximately 10 years old, he's come a long way in the time he has been with our group. At first he wasn't sociable to now you can't keep him from under your feet!! He is still reluctant to be picked up, but with patience and persistence I'm sure he will come around. He is very affectionate and talkative. He is neutered and utd on his vaccinations.

About Cause for Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

I started with Cause4paws located in Virginia in 2010, at first I was just a foster parent and was not much more involved than that. In 2013 I moved to P.A. to be nearer to my dad. I made an appointment with the vet and asked what rescue groups were in the area, she said, "pardon?" I repeated, rescue groups, I want to foster for a rescue group. She stated that there was the local shelter, and I said no, rescue groups, and she said to the best of her knowledge, there weren't any. Because I was still working with the group in V.A I did not volunteer for the shelter, I would make trips down to V.A and take adoptable cats and kittens down there to be placed for adoption through the local Petsmart stores. It soon became apparent that this area has an overwhelming number of homeless cats and kittens, and I was doing my best and spending all of my own money when I realized, I could no longer do this by myself. I needed the help of the community. So we got Cause4paws registered in the state of P.A as a non profit charitable organization and began the process of seeking donations and supplies. It was worked out much better than I initially anticipated, but due to the huge number of stray cats and kittens out there we still have a long way to go.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold regular adoption events in Fredericksburg V.A at the Petsmart located in Central Park shopping center. Cats located in Pennsylvania can be viewed by appointment only.

Our Adoption Process...

We do have an application that needs to be filled out. References from vets and friends/family will be required. All members of the household must sign off on the application to show that they understand that a pet is being brought into the home. If you live in a rental home, apartment or trailer park, you will be required to have a signed document from the owners stating it is ok for you to have a pet. Adoption fees are $125.00 per cat or kitten that is already spayed and neutered and vaccinated. This helps us cover the cost of the surgery and vaccinations that have already been provided to the cat or kitten. If you live locally, a home visit will be required prior to adoption approval.
