This is Paxton (HWTH#16413A). He is a Terrier mix, DOB: 11/11/11. Paxton weighs approximately 25-30 pounds and stands 13 inches at the shoulders. He was abandoned in a house in the Antelope Valley and has been relinquished to Halfway to Home so he can find the loving home he deserves. Paxton is a little shy when meeting strangers but shows no signs of aggression. At present he appears to have a mellow personality but may be much more active when he feels safe and secure in his new Forever home. Lots of love, good-quality human companionship and structure should go a long way in helping Paxton settle into his new home. When Paxton is thoroughly comfortable in his new environment, he will benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with leash training and the bonding process. Once he has bonded with his new owner, Paxton will be an appreciative canine companion. Paxton appears to be good with other dogs and is crate trained. For more information on Paxton, please contact Suzanne at tele # 661-824-4495.
Halfway To Home was formed in 2001 due to the need in the Antelope Valley to rescue the many homeless, helpless pets. We have animals from individuals who have to give up pets, and from animal shelters that have darling individuals who need to be spared euthanasia. There are puppies coming from individuals who did not spay and neuter in a timely manner. Your tax deductible donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 512 Rosamond, CA 93560 or you can visit us on our web site at www.halfwaytohome.net and make a donation through PayPal.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Come and see us every Saturday & Sunday, rain or shine from 1 to 5 PM at the Westside Palmdale Petsmart, located on 10th Street West, next to Trader Joe's, just south of Rancho Vista Blvd (Avenue P).
We are in need of volunteers to help out at our pet adoptions at PetSmart in west Palmdale on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. If interested, please visit us during our adoption hours at the west Palmdale PetSmart or call Suzanne at 661-824-4495.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption procedure includes an application to make sure the dog and the people will be a good match, an adoption fee to cover the cost for shots, spaying or neutering, and a home check. Halfway to Home dogs are adopted out to be part of the family, and many of them are housetrained, if not, we ask that you are willing to undertake that task. Our dogs are intended to be indoor/outdoor family members. Doggie doors are a plus.
