UPDATE 12-12-2016: Kayla is now safe in Illinois and she is adorable. She is doing well with the dog pack thus far and is cat safe. She is a small Setter-- maybe 35lbs. She would do best in a home with a safe fenced in yard. It is unknown how she would be with kids so no kids under 10 years old. The Foster to Adopt commitment can be 12-18 months long.

12-10-2016:Kayla is our latest Setter rescue from Missouri. What we know is she was kept in a cage without any human interaction for many months only to be dumped at the local kill shelter. Her neglect also includes a nasty heartworm infection and she more than likely also has at least Lyme disease from tick bites. With dogs like Kayla, we do something called Heartworm Slow Kill as it is a kinder gentler treatment and many of our dogs move to Foster to Adopt with their forever families that help them recover.
