Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SOFIA - Terrier mix, female, ~1 year, 40 lbs. This sweetheart was found as a local stray and never claimed; the Animal Control Officer contacted Peppertree as she was so impressed with Sofia's temperament. Her breed mix is a mystery; we like the term "All American" but possibly there is some terrier in the mix somewhere! Sofia's foster mom says she is making great progress, considering especially that when this pretty girl came to us she was scared and overwhelmed with the world. She is great with the cats in her foster home, has loved every person she has met, and is quickly picking up housebreaking and how to enjoy some "quiet time" in her crate. Sofia appears to be a quick learner and is very eager to please. A home with patience and a quiet routine would be ideal for Sofia. We imagine she would love another dog in the home to boost her confidence and as a playmate but it's not a requirement. While we have no reason to think she wouldn't be fine around young children, her foster mom hasn't had a chance to have her meet any yet, and as she is a bit timid we think a home without a lot of rambunctious behavior would be most comfortable for her.
** If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must first complete an adoption application at http://peppertree.org/adoptapp.php. Or visit our site (http://peppertree.org/adoptlist.php) and learn about other Peppertree dogs. *Note: visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
