Meet Dahlia, a scruffy little Yorkie x Spaniel who is dreaming of a home to call her own. She, along with a few other dogs, was given up because the family had more than the number of dogs allowed in their municipality. As you will see in some of her photos, Dahlia had something wrong with her eye. We do not know if it was caused by an injury or if she was born that way. In any case, the eye had to be surgically removed and she is now recuperating. Dogs can function very well with one eye. Though she is reserved she has taken great strides from when she first arrived; people are no longer strangers to her and she is becoming more social with each passing day. Although she gets along with other dogs, she is independent and would do well as her human’s one and only. She seems to enjoy the outdoors and will certainly catch on quickly to what leash walking is all about. All she wants is your time, patience, and understanding. Give her that and in no time she will greet you with the tail wags of a happy dog. Dahlia is quick to sound the alarm, so no apartment or condos for this girl.
