Ira is a fine-looking Yellow Lab who has never met a stranger. She was given up because her family decided that one dog was enough for them. She is very adoptable and her new people would be lucky to share their life with her. At six years old, she is aware of what it takes to be part of a family. Ira would be a quiet companion who would just love to hang out with her special human. Ira needs to go on a serious weight loss program. Just as obesity can spell trouble for humans, so can it for dogs. Being overweight can be very problematic for dogs like Ira and it can lead to health complications such as pressure on the heart, lungs, being susceptible to injury, and so on. Quality food in the right quantity and increased exercise as she becomes fit will go a long way to returning her to a happy and healthy dog. And, we must not forget that Labs still need daily exercise even through middle age and their senior years. Ira has never lived with young children so a home with older children would best suit her. Ira gets along with other dogs but her total loyalty and devotion will go to her human. Ira is very appreciative of any kindness shown to her. This girl would love a home where she can spend her retirement years. Ira is waiting, don’t delay ... fill in the adoption form.
