My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LEAH HAS BEEN ADOPTED!Meet Leah, a sweet and gentle soul who's lucky for her lucky break in life. Leah was rescued from a hoarding type situation with multiple animals kept in less than ideal conditions with little attention or love. She appears to be a Retriever/Shepherd mix, is around a year old and weighs 50 pounds. Leah is a very mild-mannered dog, but given her past, she is still quite timid with people. She loves gentle pats on the head and kind words, but is still nervous about seeking out attention. She loves other dogs and it would be ideal if we could find her a forever or foster home with another dog to help show her the ropes and boost her confidence. We've rescued many dogs from situations like hers and we are confident that once she gets out of the chaotic shelter environment, she'll blossom under the care of patient and understanding guardians. Leah is currently awaiting rescue/adoption from a kill-shelter in rural Kentucky. We would love to help her out, but all of our foster homes are filled. Pal's Place has no shelter facility and relies entirely on foster homes and paid boarding. We can only save as many dogs as we have adoptive or foster homes for! If interest is shown in her, Leah can be transported to Chicago. She will be fully vetted and prepared for adoption or a foster home. If seriously interested in possibly adopting or fostering (fosters must be in or very near Chicago) this deserving pup, please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com**PLEASE NOTE: IF INTERESTED IN FOSTERING YOU MUST BE IN CHICAGO OR IN A NEIGHBORING SUBURB**

• Leah’s adoption donation is $275. This donation helps to cover her spay, initial vaccines, initial worming and microchip. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the pets in our care. Your donation also helps save other animals like Leah from euthanasia.

• Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and please put the name of the dog in the subject line. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder; sometimes the applications end up in there!

• All of our dogs are in foster homes are can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, after an approved application has been received. To receive more info please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs, please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
