Fig's Story...
Fig (aka Figgy) is a real rescue story. Picked up at 7 wks old, she was just a bag of bones with a massive upper respiratory infection. We got that under control only to find out she had ring worm. With meds and sulfur dips she was just about ready to come out of isolation and then it was discovered she had a polyp on her ear drum. Surgery was done on Nov 1st and she is now ready to find a place to call her own. She is a little shy at first (since the first couple of months were spent in complete isolation) but she warms up quickly. August (who is also available for adoption) is her new best friend but she also shares a home with four other cats and a dog. She is up to date on her shots and has been spayed as well.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fig, a Clark American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Clark, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Clark.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clark already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clark breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clark paves the way for another one to be saved.
