Sookie's Story...

Got an unexpected new member of the casa recently.  A friend of ours witnessed her being thrown out of a pickup on the highway. He stopped and picked her up and tried to chase the vehicle down, but no luck. We took her in, scanned her for a chip and surprisingly found one!  The listed owners were contacted only to state that they gave the dog away about a week ago to someone they knew, and didn't want the dog back. They stated that they gave her away because she kept digging out of the y ard.  The people she was given too stated that she did not get along with their smaller dog.  Which is No reasoning to just dump her on the highway. The original owners agreed to meet with us to bring Sookie's shot/spay records and microchip paperwork.

So we now have a spayed, microchipped boxer - that we are trying to fatten up since she looks like she has been starved since being given away.  She is current on her shots, as sweet as can be, quiet and a wiggly-butt!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sookie, a Alvarado Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Alvarado, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Alvarado.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alvarado already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alvarado breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alvarado paves the way for another one to be saved.
