Meet Bruno! He's an adorable 8-10 month old Heinz 57. He looks to be maybe lab and some Rottweiler/Doberman/shepherd due to his coloring. Bruno is 40lbs now so he'll probably mature to anywhere from 50-70lbs, but he's not very tall right now. Bruno is the sweetest dog ever and is great with people and other dogs. He loves doggie daycare, which you can see in his video. He still has some puppy left in him and likes to play, but he isn't very high energy. Bruno was very abused in his previous life, so he's very timid at first and needs a family that understands he still needs time and patience to learn that not everyone wants to hurt him. However he warms up to new places and people extremely fast and he's so well behaved, obedient, and loving. Bruno always wants to be a good boy and just needs a family of his very own to love. There aren't enough words to describe how awesome Bruno is. Bruno is being fostered in Houston TX and will be transported upon adoption. His adoption fee is $700 email southerndogrescue@yahoo.com for an application

About Southern Dog Rescue- CT

About Our Rescue Group...

Southern Dog is a Houston, Texas based rescue. We are a very small foster based rescue, so the dogs live in home at all times, not in a shelter. Every dog in our rescue either comes from a kill shelter in Houston or straight off the streets. Our goal is to save as many dogs as we can from the deplorable animal overpopulation in the south. Just Houston has over 1.2 million stray animals at all times, hundreds of thousands of dogs living on chains their whole lives, and over 100,000 dogs euthanized for space every year. Our goal is to get as many dogs as we can out of the south and into loving, forever homes in the northern states, while trying to educate about spay/neuter in Houston and enact animal welfare/breeding legislation.

Our Adoption Process...

1. Adoption application, including vet reference, must be filled out and on file
2. Phone interview if application is approved
3. Home check if applicable (case by case basis)
4. Adoption contract including a clause that the dog be returned to the rescue if at any point during his/her life if the adopter can no longer keep.
Adoption fees are typically $700 for puppies $650 adults, but can increase or decrease on a case by case basis. Fees are for dogs being transported out of Texas, all costs for ground transport/vetting included in adoption fee. Adoption fees typically do not cover all vetting and care for the dog, however any and all residual goes to the care of the next dog taken into the rescue.
