Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello my name is Messina. I am a blue, 7-8 year old, 14 pound, crate trained Iggy girl. I am always curious when my foster mom comes in the morning to take me out from a warm sleep. Most of the time I follow her right out from my crate, but sometimes I am still fast sleep because I am tired from a long fun day with my foster sister. When it is time for my food, I am very happy, and sometimes when I finish my food too fast, I try to steal my foster sister’s food!!
So far, I love to go for walks and explore nature and the world. I have improved so much on social skills from when I first arrived here to my new foster home. I came from a not-so-nice environment and was very nervous about being inside a real home and having so much interaction with humans. It took me no time at all to learn about love and kindness though! I am still a tiny bit nervous if you come at me very fast in a standing position or try to reach for me very quickly, but it just takes a minute for me to remember that touches are now filled with love. I am doing so very well that I am also teaching my foster sister about confidence and love from humans!
I really enjoy having quality time with my foster family. They scratch my ears and give me the t-touch massage on my head. I love to snuggle up with my favorite foster sister or in my soft comfy and warm bed. I am potty-trained so you don’t have to worry about me tinkling on your floor. When the weather is cold or wet, I use potty pads that help keep your home clean.
I recently completed my heartworm treatment and am ready for adoption! I will do best in a quiet home with predictable routines. It would be really nice to have a confident and well adjusted furry sibling for me to spend time with in my new home, but if I can spend lots of quality time with my new humans that would be a greyt trade off!
Sincerely,
Messina
