1/1/17 - Unlike Sir Winston Churchill, I was not born to an important family; did not have a mother who was an American socialite; did not have a father who was a charismatic politician, did not hold any political or cabinet positions; and am not widely regarded as being among the most influential people in British history.

But...... I was born to a great yorkie mom and dad even though I don’t know anything about them. I seem to remember holding a position as pet in some household before being homeless; and even though I’m not regarded as being anything special in the grand scheme of things, I am special to my foster parents and they cannot imagine anyone not wanting me.

I’m just the sweetest little thing. I am currently co-existing fine with the other pups in my foster home, although we don’t know just yet if I will want to engage in play. I sleep in the big bed right between foster mom and dad, but closer to foster mom. I eat very well and could always use more so free feeding won’t be a good situation for me. I haven’t yet acted like I know what toys are, but foster mom is hoping to get me to like them. I'm doing ok in the potty department and will go when taken out, but my bladder is so small I need to be taken out every couple of hours. Also, I need to go out IMMEDIATELY after I eat. I have learned that once I go out and do my business I will get a treat, so I come right back in, twirl around and then sit and wait for my treat. Teehee. I catch on quickly and am very smart. Speaking of eating, I had my dental and since my teeth were never taken care of, most of them either fell out or had to be pulled. I do have 5 teeth left and can eat hard food mixed with soft food easily.

I get very attached and love sitting in foster mom's lap or right beside her. I like giving kisses, too. I’m a clingy one and follow foster mom everywhere and am even content to just lay in a dog bed that she puts in a chair and pulls next to her while she is in the kitchen cooking. I can use a stool to get on the sofa, but if those aren’t provided I need to be picked up and put down for safety. Since I am so small, a home with children would probably not be a good fit.

So, I may not have as much recognition or clout as Winston Churchill, but what I do have is a lot of love and cuteness to spread to a new mom and dad. I only ask for the same in return.
