Roger has a lot of love to give, I would even describe him as desperate for affection; however, Roger is also afraid of his own shadow. Fear is always his first instinct. Roger needs just the right home: A quiet home with 1 or 2 adults (no kids), someone with lots of experience with cats, a patient person that will give him the months he needs to adjust to his new home but also knows how and when to give him a nudge in the right direction when he’s being too fearful. Once he is comfortable in his surroundings you will see the bright eyed kitty who flops over for belly rubs, purrs like crazy, and loves to chase, pounce, and catch kibble tossed in the air. He is adaptable to change; it's just painfully slow. I dare say after 5 months he is finally getting comfortable with the dog.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an
adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
