Dorothy's Story...
Meet adorable super friendly Dorothy! This gal is good with all people and is good with most dogs given a proper introduction. She is about 3 years old. She came to us as a stray at the shelter. We had her X-rayed - they thought she was pregnant and came back inconclusive. She was spayed and is now just looking for love as the sole focus of your attention!

She is big - sturdy, could jog and hold up to an active person or couch potato.

Adoption fee: $200

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dorothy, a Phoenix Shih Tzu/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Basset Hound breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
