Theodore's Story...
ABOUT THEODORE - PET OF THE WEEK!
This is a really special cat -- what a sweetheart! Two-year-old Theodore wraps himself around your legs, snuggles up against your face and curls himself up into your lap for cuddling. This handsome and affectionate young boy was surrendered when his soldier owner had to move into the barracks where pets are not allowed. Now he is looking for another lap to curl up in. Call 913-684-4939/1669 or email ftleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com.

Adopted September 2016 but returned after being overstimulated in that home -- lots of little kids! Looks like he would do better in a quieter, not quite so busy home. He is an amazing cat and everyone who meets him loves him and wants the best fit for him.

Featured as the Pet of the Week in the Dec. 15, 2016, issue of the Fort Leavenworth Lamp.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Theodore, a Fort Leavenworth Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Fort Leavenworth, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Fort Leavenworth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Leavenworth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Leavenworth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Leavenworth paves the way for another one to be saved.
